Alphonso Davies suffers skull contusion
Bayern Munich has confirmed that the Canadian men’s soccer team ace suffered a skull contusion in the 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund.
Alphonso Davies was forced to come off after taking a boot to the face from England international Jude Bellingham while fighting for the ball during Saturday’s Bundesliga game. The Canadian men’s soccer team was replaced in the 46th minute of the match when FC Bayern Munich was leading 2-0 in ‘Der Klassiker’ against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Injury report
The 21-year-old was taken to the hospital immediately and after medical examination the German giants confirmed that he suffered a skull contusion. Alphonso Davies suffered a ‘cranial bruise’ and he didn’t train with the rest of the team on Sunday. Bayern Munich didn’t give a timeline on the Canadian’s return but they said that he was ‘feeling good in the circumstances.’
“I just want to say thank you everyone for the nice messages and I’m looking forward to being back on the pitch soon. Thank you,” said Davies with a big smile on a video he posted on Instagram while wearing a hoodie.
Jude Bellingham talked about the incident
“It wasn’t intentional. I didn’t want to hurt him and I wish him a speedy recovery,” said the England international after the game when journalists asked him about the incident with Alphonso Davies.
