Dominik Szoboszlai slams Liverpool after 90th minute draw against Tottenham
Liverpool allowed a 90th minute equalizer to Tottenham to share the spoils from Anfield, and Red midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai was fuming after the match.

Disaster struck in the 90th minute from Anfield as Liverpool conceded an equalizer to Tottenham. The draw cost Arne Slot’s side two important points in the race for Champions League, and midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai was furious at his team’s performance following the match.
No UCL for Liverpool?
It was a goal that could make the difference between relegation and salvation for Tottenham, but for Liverpool the two points they let escape on Sunday afternoon could determine which European tournament they are playing in next season, according to the Hungarian. “We have to wake up. If we keep going like this, next season we should be happy if we play Conference League,” Szoboszlai told Sky Sports.
Szoboszlai scored the opener in a first half that Liverpool controlled the match for the opening 45 minutes. Things seemed to change after the break and Tottenham continued to create chances until Richarlison scored a 90th minute goal to share the spoils at Anfield. “Second half, I don’t know, we just don’t do the same things like in the first half. The question is why? We will sit down together. This is the most difficult time. We have to stick together,” said the former Leipzig midfielder.

After winning the league last year, it’s been a difficult season at Anfield as Arne Slot oversaw a massive offloading of players in the summer. It has caused a bit of turmoil in the club and Slot’s job has been in question on more than a few occasions throughout the year.
Anfield boos Reds after draw
The boo birds started to ring around Merseyside at the end of the match, and while Szoboszlai says he didn’t hear them, he gets where the fans are coming from. “I didn’t hear the boos [at full-time] but I can understand because last season we became champions and this season we are not performing in the way that we should be.”
Liverpool are now fifth in the league with 49 points after the draw on Sunday. Aston Villa are two points ahead of them in fourth place, and Chelsea are in sixth with 48 points. England could be on track for a fifth Champions League spot depending on if they are one of two top performing countries in Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, but Liverpool will be focused on a top four finish to avoid needing external help to ensure their place in the Champions League.
While Szoboszlai says he understands the boos, he wants the fans to be behind the team in the most important moment the season. “They should stay behind us because last season, when we were champions four games before the end, everybody was happy. Support us now when we’re in difficult times,” concluded the Hungarian.
