América to donate ticket revenue from Xolos game to Hurricane Otis campaign

A joint statement from the Águilas and Azteca Stadium indicated that all gate receipts will be donated to support those affected by the catastrophe.

Hurricane ‘Otis’ hit the state of Guerrero this week leaving death and destruction in its path affecting thousands in the region.

One of Mexican soccer’s biggest teams Club America have confirmed that they will lend their support to the stricken state and have confirmed that all gate receipts from the home Apertura 2023 matchday 16 game against Tijuana on 4 November will be donated towards Hurricane Otis relief work.

In solidarity with the tragedy caused by Hurricane Otis that affected the state of Guerrero, Club América and the Azteca Stadium will donate the entire box office takings from the Matchday 16 match of Liga MX against Xolos to relief work”.

“Through our social responsibility program ‘Our Wings’, Fundación Televisa, will double the amount raised and will allocate it for food, shelters and damage reconstruction,” said the team statement which was shared via the club’s social networks.

This weekend, América will visit Monterrey at the Estadio BBVA as part of matchday 14, then travel to Alfonso Lastras to face Atlético de San Luis and then they receive Xolos. The regular season for ‘Ame comes down with a trip to Nuevo Leon on matchday 17 as they face high flying Tigres.
