The United States internationals have taken over the summer transfer window, making the switch to Europe’s top-tier clubs since the window opened. The first one to switch teams was Brenden Aaronson, who signed for Leeds United after the Premier League side paid $32.84 million to RB Salzburg in early June.

The former Philadelphia Union ace became the second most expensive transfer in US history behind Christian Pulisic. Then Tyler Adams joined his USMNT teammate after Leeds paid $17 million to RB Leipzig last week and he became the third most expensive transfer in US history.

Another American that switched teams this summer is Luca de la Torre after completing his move to Celta Vigo. The United States international joined the La Liga side after they paid $2.2 million to Heracles and he will wear the No. 23 jersey in the 2022/23 campaign.

Celtic sign Carter-Vickers

Celtic also announced the signing of defender Cameron Carter-Vickers from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Matt Turner joined Arsenal after they paid the New England Revolution a fee that could reach £7.5million. The United States goalkeeper made his debut with the Premier League side in Friday’s pre-season friendly against Nurnberg.

Jordan Pefok decided to leave Swiss side Young Boys and join Bundesliga side Union Berlin for a $6 million fee. Other American players like Kobi Henry, Griffin Yow and Bryan Reynolds have switched teams in search of more minutes to be considered in the final roster that will play in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
