Arda Güler out again as Real Madrid confirm Champions League squad

Carlo Ancelotti announced the players who will travel for the match against Sporting Braga on Tuesday in the Champions League and the Turk is missing.

There is no time to complain after Saturday’s draw against Sevilla - at least not for the team - as Real Madrid look to keep their minds on the match that will pit them against Sporting Braga in Portugal on Tuesday.

lt marks the third match of the group stage of the Champions League and Los Blancos need a victory to approach Saturday’s Clásico with confidence and to have the chance to secure qualification for the round of 16, following their wins against Napoli and Union Berlin in the first two matches of this season’s top European competition, with room to spare.

Real Madrid squad for Sporting Braga

For the upcoming match, Carlo Ancelotti has announced the list of players who will travel to Portugal with only one change compared to the Sevilla game: Nacho. The central defender has served his two-match suspension after his expulsion against Girona.

The rest of the squad remains unchanged.

Arda Güler, who has been training with the group for over a week, is once again not included in the list. The coaching staff wants him to be at 100% fitness before he starts playing, so he won’t be traveling to Braga either, and fans will have to wait to see him make his debut in a Real Madrid jersey. It seems unlikely that he will travel to Barcelona next weekend, so he is not expected to be available until at least the match against Rayo at the Bernabéu on November 5th.

The Italian coach may make some changes to the starting eleven with an eye on the Clásico, which could see players like Fran García, Nacho, Camavinga, or Joselu getting the nod. In this list, there’s only one player from youth team Castilla, namely Diego Piñeiro, with the likes of Carrillo, Nico Paz, and Gonzalo García not traveling with the team.

Ancelotti is putting his trust in the first-team players to continue their winning streak in all Champions League matches.
