Argentina confirm pre-World Cup friendly

The match, against the United Arab Emirates, will be played six days before Argentina’s World Cup opener against Saudi Arabia.

Argentina confirmed on Tuesday that the national team will play one final friendly before the World Cup gets underway in Qatar next month. The Albiceleste will face the United Arab Emirates at Mohammed bin Zayed stadium Abu Dhabi on Wednesday 16 November. The game will kick off at 12:30 p.m. Argentine time (ART), 19:30 hours local time.

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council officially announced the news on their social media platforms adding information on how to buy tickets for the match. An open training session will be held at Al Nahyan Stadium on 13 November.

The friendly match will be the last test for Lionel Scaloni’s men before the world event starts. Argentina is in Group C along with Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland.

The Argentine coach is expected to announce his definitive 26-man squad list for the World Cup on 14 November.
