The Supercopa Argentina will be played as a single match with the winner receiving a one million dollars cash prize.
The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has reached an agreement for the next four editions of the Argentine Super Cup (Supercopa Argentina) to be played in United Arab Emirates capital Abu Dhabi, from 2023 until 2026, TyC reports.
The Supercopa, which will pit the Primera Division league winners against the Copa Argentina champions, will be played as a single match with the winner receiving a cash prize of one million dollars, according to TyC, who add that the first edition in Abu Dhabi will be held in January. In the event of a club ending up winning both the league and the Cup, they will face the team which finished as runners-up in the league in the Super Cup.
River Plate, cup holders
The last winner of the Argentine Super Cup was River Plate in 2019, as the 2020 edition was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
