Bellingham, Rüdiger, and Lucas sent off, with the central defender facing the risk of a serious ban
De Burgos Bengoetxea sent off the three players at the end of the match. The German's punishment is expected to be between four and 12 matches.
In addition to their defeat, Madrid is dealing with a significant number of injuries. Beyond the existing issues with Mendy and Vinicius, Rüdiger, Lucas Vázquez, and Bellingham were all sent off in the closing stages of the match. Of the three, the German center-back’s case appears to be the most serious, according to referee De Burgos Bengoetxea’s report.
“He was sent off for throwing an object from the technical area that missed me. After being shown the red card, he had to be restrained by several members of the coaching staff, displaying an aggressive attitude,” the report reads.
As a result, Rüdiger could face a suspension of between four and twelve matches under Article 101. This article addresses mild violence toward referees, stating: “Grabbing, pushing, shaking, or displaying other attitudes toward referees that, while only slightly violent, do not show aggressive intent will result in a suspension of four to twelve matches.

If the offender is a doctor, ATS, or physiotherapist of a competing team, the suspension will range from four to six months, unless the act constitutes a more serious infraction, with the corresponding financial penalties,” according to the Disciplinary Code of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
The possible punishments for Lucas Vázquez and Bellingham are expected to be much lighter, likely limited to a one-match suspension, which would be served in the next edition of the Cup. Vázquez received a straight red card “for protesting one of our decisions, entering several meters onto the pitch, and making gestures of disagreement.”
His behavior will be treated as conduct contrary to good sporting order. Article 129 states: “Those whose conduct is classified as minor and contrary to good sporting order may incur a suspension of up to four matches or a fine of up to 602 euros.”

Bellingham, for his part, was sent off after the match had ended. According to De Burgos’s report, “He was sent off for the following reason: After the match ended, he approached our position in an aggressive manner and had to be restrained by his teammates.” He is also expected to receive a one-match ban.
