Update:

Documentary makers rejoice! Wrexham secure promotion from League One to the Championship with a resounding 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic, their thirth successive promotion. The hosts proved far too strong at the Stok Racecourse, surging to a 2-0 lead at the break.

Which league will Wrexham play in next season?

Climbing from non-league football all the way up to the Championship is an incredible achievement for Wrexham — or for any team in the world — even considering the club’s newly found financial power. Next season, they will play in the Championship, where they look set to face old rivals like Swansea.

After years in the shadows, Wrexham is clearly on the rise, but how much further do they have to go before they are rubbing shoulders with the elite of English football? Above the Championship lies the ultimate goal: the all-powerful Premier League.

This third consecutive promotion puts Wrexham just one step away from the Premier League. From here, the road only gets tougher, but it’s a path that Luton Town completed in 2024, climbing from the National League to the Premier League. Co-owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have big plans for the club’s future.
