UEFA closes in on record sponsorship revenue as new commercial deals and expanded Champions League structure accelerate global growth and payouts to clubs.

UEFA is on the verge of surpassing €1.1 billion, about $1.3 billion, in sponsorship revenue, while total earnings from sponsorships and broadcast rights are expected to top €6 billion, roughly $7 billion. The Champions League remains the primary engine behind the financial surge.

According to a report in The Guardian, UC3, the joint venture between UEFA and the European Club Association that manages commercial rights, is finalizing two major new sponsorship deals that would push UEFA’s commercial income to unprecedented levels. The agreements involve an official payments provider and a technology partner, although the companies have not yet been named.

New wave of commercial partners

In recent months, UEFA has also locked in several high-value long-term partnerships. AB InBev signed a six-year deal as the official beer sponsor of UEFA competitions, while Pepsi will serve as the official soft drink provider from 2027 through 2033. Nike is expected to be named the official supplier of match balls for UEFA tournaments, adding another significant revenue stream.

Taken together, these deals represent an estimated 40% increase in sponsorship income for the next commercial cycle compared with the previous one.

Champions League format fuels growth

The revamped Champions League format has played a major role in driving global interest. More matches between top clubs, higher stakes deep into the competition, and expanded international appeal have all helped UEFA command greater commercial value.

That growth is feeding directly into prize money. Clubs reaching the later stages of the Champions League now regularly earn more than $100 million (almost $118 million) in winnings, with payouts expected to rise further as UEFA’s broadcast and sponsorship revenues continue to increase.
