Christian Pulisic has been linked with a move away from Chelsea during the summer transfer window because of the lack of playing time that he is seeing so far in the Premier League campaign. Through the first five games of the season, the 23-year-old has only played a total of 96 minutes and he is not happy with his new role coming off the bench.

Pulisic frustrated with the team’s decision

The American wanted to switch teams this summer because he wanted to arrive in peak form with the USMNT for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Unfortunately, Chelsea’s new owner, Todd Boehly, declined all the offers that were on the table, crushing Pulisic’s wish to move, leaving the player frustrated.

According to The Athletic, Christian Pulisic is “disappointed” with the Premier League side because they didn’t allow him to leave on a season-long loan. Per report, the 23-year-old was even facilitating the move in order for the deal to go through as quickly as possible before the end of the transfer window, but Boehly had the final say at the end of the negotiations.

Pulisic will now have to fight for a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s starting XI, having yet to get a start this campaign. The American will have to showcase his talent in the few opportunities he receives from Tuchel and fight with Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz and Mason Mount for the starting job.
