This time around, the Chivas board of directors has chosen Querétaro as the destination for their preseason preparations ahead of the upcoming Apertura 2023 Tournament of the Liga MX. Instead of opting for beach training, the rojiblanco team has decided on a different approach following their painful defeat in the final against Tigres. The team is determined to move forward and improve.

Chivas’ Apertura prep readied

The chosen venue will not only serve as a training ground but will also host the team’s first friendly match. Guadalajara has already outlined its preparation agenda for the upcoming semester, which will be quite demanding due to their participation in two competitions: the Apertura Tournament 2023 of the Liga MX and the Leagues Cup.

The Chivas squad will reconvene on Monday June 12 to undergo necessary physical and medical examinations. The following day, they have scheduled a double training session at Verde Valle. On Wednesday, June 14, they will travel to Querétaro, where their preseason will take place. The team’s stay in Querétaro will last from June 14 to 23, during which they will engage in various training activities. Additionally, on June 22, they have arranged a friendly match against an opponent that is yet to be confirmed.

Chivas is set to return to Guadalajara on June 23, and they will resume training at Verde Valle on June 24. The players will have a rest period on June 25 and 26. Further details about the remainder of the preseason will be announced at a later date. The Rebaño Sagrado’s initial focus will be on the Leagues Cup, which is scheduled to take place from July 21 to August 19. Following that, they will shift their attention to the Torneo Apertura 2022 of the Liga MX.

Having recently suffered the disappointment of losing the final, the immediate mission for coach Veljko Paunovic and his team will be to overcome the pain of missing out on the championship and regroup for the upcoming challenges.
