Club América are poised to acquire one of the best talents in Liga MX with Julián Quiñones set to join the Estadio Azteca side. The imminent acquisition for the ‘Aguilas’ ends the club’s quest for a key attacking player with the Colombian set to swap Atlas de Guadalajara for a move to the capital.

Atlas owners (Grupo Orlegi) and America have reached an agreement for the transfer with the South American striker set to be presented in the coming days and with this, new America boss Andre Jardine will have a true offensive arsenal for the 2023 Apertura.

Pedro Aquino to Santos

The arrival of the Peruvian midfielder Aquino to another of the Grupo Orlegi owned clubs (Santos Laguna) lowered Quiñones transfer cost and early speculation suggests that ‘Ame’ have paid six million dollars for the former Lobos BUAP player instead of the nine million dollars that were initially anticipated from the outset.

The relationship between both Club America and the Orlegi group seems to be improving with several youth players from America set to play in the lower ranks of Spanish second division side Sporting de Gijón, with the Asturian club part of the Grupo Orlegi portfolio.
