‘Las Aguillas’ now hold the overall lead in the standings, albeit tied on points with Monterrey with five matchdays to go.
We are now well into the final stretch of the Liga MX Apertura 2022 and the final positions are starting to become a little clearer.
At the summit are the resurgent America who are enjoying an amazing winning and just need two more consecutive victories to create a new club record. ‘Las Aguillas’ currently lead Rayados from Monterrey on goal difference with America having played a game less.
In the bottom part of the table, Cruz Azul, Atlas and Pumas remain within the last six places and have little time to address this situation as they run the risk of missing out on a place in the liguilla playoffs

After six consecutive wins, América have amassed 25 points and as things stand, the side from the capital would be into the playoff finals along with Monterrey, Pachuca and Santos Laguna, who despite their defeat this weekend managed to stay in the top 4 with 22 points.
All sides from fifth place Toluca with 22 points through to 12th place Juarez would be guaranteed post season football with their current positions being good enough to qualify for the ‘liguilla’.
As things stand, all teams are still in the hunt with everything to play for and even bottom side Queratao are still not mathematically out of the hunt in progressing to the post-season phase of the competition but would need a major upturn in form for the ‘Gallos Blancos’ to progress..
