Mexico’s Club León and Japan’s Urawa Reds meet in Jeddah in the second round of the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, with the winners progressing to a semi-final against UEFA Champions League holders Manchester City.
León, who qualified for the Club World Cup by lifting the CONCACAF Champions League title in June, will be making their debut in the competition. For Urawa Reds, on the other hand, Saudi Arabia 2023 represents a third crack at FIFA’s global tournament.
The Asian champions came third at the Club World Cup in 2007, before a fifth-placed finish 10 years later.
