CONCACAF Champions Cup schedule for Liga MX teams América, Cruz Azul, Monterrey, Toluca and UANL

The CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16 starts tonight, and there are five clubs from Mexico looking to not just get to the next round, but looking for a run at the title.

Mexico looking for Cup No. 41

A record nine MLS clubs are in still standing, making up for more than half of the remaining teams in the competition. Liga MX will be looking to have their say over the next couple weeks, with the first leg being played over the next three days and the second leg being played next week.

One Mexican side is guaranteed to make it to the quarters of the competition, with Monterrey and Cruz Azul squaring off in this round. Club America will take on the Philadelphia Union in the first kickoff in the Round of 16. Toluca will face San Diego FC on Wednesday, and Tigers UNAL will look to get a good result over FC Cincinnati on Thursday from Snapdragon Stadium.

Cruz Azul are not only the defending champions, but they are the winningest club in the CONCACAF Champions Cup along with America, who each have seven titles each. Mexico is the most prolific country in the tournament having produced a winner of the cup 40 times in the 64 year history.

Costa Rica have the second most titles of any country with six and the United States and El Salvador are tied in third with three titles in cup history. Mexico will seek a 41st title in the competition hoping one of their five clubs in the Round of 16 can make a run to the quarters and into the final. Here are the kickoff times of each of the Mexican club’s first leg matches coming up over the next few days.

• March 10th Philadelphia Union vs Club America 7:00 p.m. ET
• March 10th Monterrey vs Cruz Azul 9:00 p.m. ET
• March 11th San Diego FC vs. Toluca 11:30 p.m. ET
• March 12th FC Cincinnati vs Tigres UNAL 8:00 p.m. ET
