Cristiano Ronaldo remains steadfast in his personal quest to reach 1,000 career goals—a historic milestone in world football. The Portuguese forward increased his tally to 929 goals after scoring his national team’s second goal against Denmark in the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, his closest rival is grappling with injuries. Argentine star Lionel Messi reached 854 goals after scoring in Inter Miami’s 2-1 victory over Atlanta United but was subsequently sidelined due to injury, forcing him to miss Argentina’s matches against Uruguay and Brazil.
