Cristiano Ronaldo record ended by PSG’s Nuno Mendes
The Portuguese legend has since left the Champions League spotlight, and one of his many records has now been passed over.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-standing milestone has now slipped into the past, as the whistle blew for kick-off between PSG and Bayern Munich in Paris.
What record has CR7 lost?
At just 23 years and 313 days, Nuno Mendes has become the youngest Portuguese player to reach 50 appearances in the Champions League proper. The record had been held for years by Ronaldo, now 41, who reached that mark at 24 years and 83 days.

It is a reminder of how quickly the modern game accelerates careers. Mendes, already a regular for Luis Enrique, has built his European experience at a pace that even Ronaldo did not match in his early years.
For Ronaldo, those first 50 games were the foundation of a legendary Champions League career. For Mendes, they are the beginning of whatever comes next.
Portugal’s next generation is looking healthy.
