The soap opera has come to an end. The brand-new, expanded Club World Cup, now featuring 32 teams, will be broadcast globally on DAZN through its platforms.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13. The draw is set to take place this Thursday in Miami at 1:00 p.m ET.

DAZN has emerged victorious in the global race to secure the broadcasting rights, which have seen numerous twists and turns. FIFA had been in negotiations with Apple TV and other operators, seeking revenue it deemed suitable for the product.

However, those talks failed to yield an agreement, leaving DAZN to secure the deal for worldwide coverage.

Although the financial details have not been disclosed, RMC estimates that DAZN paid €1 billion for the rights. With this amount, along with revenue from commercial partnerships and sponsorships, FIFA aims to meet the significant financial demands made by participating clubs.

The exact distribution of funds remains unclear, but the European Club Association (ECA) negotiated with FIFA up until the last moment to reach an agreement.

FIFA chairman Gianni Infantino said that he was “delighted to announce that FIFA, in partnership with DAZN and FIFA+, will bring the best of club football for free to everywhere in the world, meaning that every single football fan across the globe can watch the best players from the 32 best clubs compete in the new FIFA Club World Cup to be the first official ‘FIFA Club World Champions’.
