At Villarreal and in Argentina, there is a sense of anticipation for the latest updates on Gio Lo Celso’s situation and confirmation of the extent of his hamstring injury. A partial medical report was originally expected on Friday, but the Castellón-based club announced that the communique will not be released this weekend.

The reason is that the player must undergo one last test, after which a full medical report can be issued and the case closed. One the results of the final test are known, medical staff can concentrate on devising a recovery program and will have a clearer idea of how long Lo Celso will remain sidelined.

Understandably, there is great concern about the midfielder’s fitness, especially in Argentina. Since he suffered the setback and the first tests were known, there has been talk that the injury could possibly be serious enough for him to miss out on being called up for the World Cup.
