President Donald Trump shared a video on his TikTok account in which he sends a message to Cristiano Ronaldo with a special request.
The relationship between Donald Trump and Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to take a positive turn following the Portuguese star’s visit to the White House a few months ago. After meeting the US president, the Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Al Nassr, described the encounter as a positive experience.
“Thank you, Mr President, for the invitation and for the warm welcome you and the First Lady extended to me and my fiancée, Georgina. Each of us has something meaningful to give, and I am ready to do my part as we inspire new generations to build a future defined by courage, responsibility and lasting peace,” Ronaldo said at the time.
Now, four months before the start of the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, US President Donald Trump shared a message for Ronaldo in a TikTok video, describing it as a “GOAT-to-GOAT” exchange.
In the post, Trump calls CR7 the greatest of all time and invites him to visit the United States soon, saying they “need him”. He reiterates his admiration for the Portuguese forward and ends the video with AI-generated images of the two playing football together in the Oval Office of the White House.
“Ronaldo, you are the greatest of all time. We need you in America. Get going, we need you fast,” Trump posted on social media.
Why did Trump send that message to Cristiano Ronaldo?
Donald Trump’s message to Cristiano Ronaldo comes as a new Major League Soccer season gets under way, a competition with which the Portuguese forward has been linked on several occasions. However, given his current ties to Al Nassr, such a move appears unlikely for now.
Even so, Trump’s public endorsement of Ronaldo has sparked a wide range of reactions, largely because of the relationship the president has cultivated with the Portuguese star. Many supporters, like Trump himself, would welcome the chance to see CR7 play in the United States.
