Kylian Mbappé's short-term future, barring a last-minute surprise, is in Paris. The striker was one of the main protagonists in PSG’s victory against Lens on Saturday. He was on target twice in the 3-1 win and put in an extraordinary performance as the capital side picked up their first three points of the new campaign. Such is the confidence in Paris regarding his continuity that goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, the goalkeeper of the Parisian team, confirmed in an interview with Free Ligue 1 that the striker is 100% going to stay this season.

“It’s a pleasure to play with Kylian, he’s fantastic. Is he going to stay? Yes, yes, sure, sure,” assured the Italian goalkeeper. His words, however, contrast with those of other players, such as Manuel Ugarte and Zaïre-Emery, who did not want to confirm anything in the mixed zone, although their relationship with Mbappé cannot be compared to that of Donnarumma, who is very close.

The former Milan keeper also gave details about the conversation he had with the captain of the French team once last night’s game had ended. “I said, ‘Well done, Kyky, congrats for those two goals! It is a pity that he had one disallowed and that they scored against us. Because there was only a second left to finish the game without conceding. I was very angry about that goal. Conceding a goal is always frustrating for a goalkeeper. Even so, it’s positive,” he said.

Mbappé will be a PSG player this season and the club will try to emulate last year’s scenario, which ended with the player signing a renewed contract.
