Roberto Carlos has been one of the first to react to the signing of Endrick by Real Madrid. The current Champions League holders announced this Thursday the signing of the young star from Palmeiras, who will join the Whites offically in 2024. The historic left-back gave his blessing regarding the signing in the mixed zone at the Qatar World Cup.

“Endrick is now going to play with the greats. He has been playing with the youth team; I think he has played two games with Palmeiras. With people his age he is playing very well. If it’s official, which it already is, in two years he’s going to really know what the Spanish League is like, he’s going to play for the best club in the world. Regarding the signings, you just have to wish them good luck”, said Roberto Carlos.

Endrick will be eligible to play for Real Madrid as of 2024.

Regarding the World Cup final on Sunday, which will be played between France and Argentina, he added: “It is difficult to choose a team for the final on Sunday. I am here working as a FIFA ambassador. Argentina started off with a loss against Saudi Arabia. A player-coach meeting came and they began to improve. We already knew that France was one of the favourites. It’s a final involving two great teams, so the best one will win”.

Lastly, he spoke about Brazil, of which he “believed it would go further” in the World Cup in Qatar. “I expected more from Brazil, I expected more from Uruguay, I expected more from Spain. The Brazilian team will have to prepare better for the next World Cup. That’s football.”
