Erik Ten Hag screams at Jadon Sancho
In a Manchester United training session in Thailand, new manager Erik Ten Hag was seen (heard, rather) giving Jadon Sancho the hairdryer treatment.
On Tuesday, Manchester United played a friendly against Liverpool in Bangkok, Thailand. During the training session before the game, Manchester United’s new manager, Erik Ten Hag, was shouting angrily at player Jadon Sancho.
When Sancho signed with United after playing for Borussia Dortmund, it was during the Ole Gunnar reign, and he never really reached his full potential, showing just glimpses of talent. He scored just five goals in 37 appearances in all competitions. Sancho, who lost his place in the England squad, was hoping to play better under Ten Hag.
Though he seemed to anger his new coach in the training session, Sancho responded well by netting the opening goal. Manchester United ended up beating Liverpool 4-0.
Ten Hag made sure to point out the mistakes he saw in his team. Even still, he admitted he was impressed with how his players looked after the summer break, siting their “speed and creativity”.
“It will take time. Believe me I have seen a lot of mistakes,” said Ten Hag. “You wouldn’t say if you see the result but let’s be honest, Liverpool play in three teams and they were not the strongest. So we do not overestimate this result.”
