Ex-Chelsea star slams club owners and Liam Rosenior after Blues’ latest loss
Chelsea have lost their last four matches in all competitions and are out of the top four in the Premier League going into the final stretch of the season.

Chelsea have seen better days. After a midseason manager swap, they crashed out of the Champions League are still fighting to break into the top four of the Premier League. Many are pointing the finger at Blues at the clubs directors, and manager Liam Rosenior including one former Chelsea player.
Blues fans tired of ownership, say Petit
Emmanuel Petit played his three seasons at Chelsea, and has claimed something has to change at Stamford Bridge. The situation on the pitch is worrying, but according to the Frenchman the biggest issue according to is the the suits in charge of the club.
“I have no idea if he’s going to stay at the end of the season, but to be honest with you, something has to change. I think the American owners must understand that we respect, and I have huge respect for those who put the money on the table, but in the end, don’t put your nose in matters that you don’t understand,” said Petit of BlueCo which is run by American businessman Todd Boehly.

BlueCo bought the club in 2022, and since then the club has gone through three different managers. Enzo Maresca lasted a season and a half before he was axed just after the new year. Rosenior was named the manager of Chelsea’s brother club Strasbourg but Petit sees the ownerships approach to running the club as a clash with how things are done in the sport. “Football is a serious matter for so many people, and you are trying to make business all the time, which means the Chelsea fans are tired of it. They don’t want business at the club, they want success.”
Defense to blame in Stamford Bridge
Institutional problems aside, the play on the pitch has been a source of great concern for fans at Stamford Bridge. They have lost their last four matches in all competitions, losing 3-0 to Everton over the weekend, getting knocked out of the Champions League on an 8-2 aggregate and just barely got past Wrexham in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
“The main trouble at Chelsea is probably the defense. They have many, many issues, but the main problem is the defense. They concede too many goals. They have lost too many games at home and are probably one of the most average teams at home in the Premier League. I think they are 12th or 13th in the table at home.”
There was plenty of doubt cast in the direction of the clubs directors when Rosenior was named manager, and signed him to a contract until 2032. Over the last month, results have been disappointing and Petit thinks that the giant step to the touchline at Stamford Bridge could be a bit too much for the 41 year old manager. “I think the dimension of Strasbourg fit perfectly with Rosenior. Giving him the responsibility of such a huge club like Chelsea is a huge step, especially after taking charge after Enzo Maresca left the club.”
