The administration of the US government under Donald Trump in conjunction with the White House Task Force for the 2026 World Cup, continues to work towards the global event with the goal of ensuring safety and a great World Cup for all visitors.

A few months ago it was revealed that fans from a certain group of countries were on a select list by the United States government who would have to pay bonds of up to $15,000 to enter US territory.

This requirement forced travelers from up to 50 countries to pay a $15,000 entry fee to the United States, including Algeria, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Tunisia, nations that have already qualified for the tournament.

In a change of heart to encourage fans from these countries travelling to to support their national team at the World Cup, the United States government announced that the bail payment will be eliminated, so it will not be charged as long as they have tickets for the World Cup.

“The United States is excited to host the biggest FIFA World Cup in history. We will waive the visa bond for eligible fans who have purchased World Cup tickets,” Mora Namdar, Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, told AP.

Iran and Haiti are not so lucky

Despite the exemption from bail for fans with World Cup tickets from the list of 50 countries shared by the United States government, Haiti and Iran are not so lucky.

Fans of these two teams are not allowed to enter the United States, except for the players, coaching staff and personnel who will participate in the World Cup.
