Griezmann confirms his future

Antoine Griezmann spoke to Spanish TV broadcaster Movistar Champions League after the 5–2 victory against Tottenham, in which he scored a goal and provided a sensational assist.

He confirmed that he will remain at the club and will not be joining Orlando.

On the win. “We took advantage of some of their mistakes, either technical or due to the very slippery pitch, which we’re used to. We played a fantastic match, and it’s a shame we conceded two goals. We need to review the game to avoid repeating what happened in Barcelona because we have a good lead.”

On starting well in the game. “We wanted to apply a lot of pressure and play at a high pace from the start. We did that. Mistakes happen too, but we are very happy with the pressure we applied.”

On Julián Álvarez’s impact. “We need everyone. We are very happy with the level of Julián and Sorloth. We need our number nines scoring goals, and it is up to us to work and make life easier for our strikers.”

On his future at Atlético Madrid. “I’m very happy here and enjoying it a lot, and what I do on the field speaks for itself. We’ll see, but the idea is to go all the way and then everyone else can talk.”

On the Copa del Rey final. “It’s my dream and my goal. I hope we can achieve something great.”
