Major League Soccer set a new record in Week 24 of the 2022 regular season by recording the most goals in a single day. On Saturday, 13 games were played in Major League Soccer and 26 teams produced a total of 57 goals, the most in a single day in league history.
The previous record in MLS’ 27-year history was set on 8 November 2020 when 46 goals were scored in 13 games, 11 less than the new record set last Saturday this campaign. Week 24 in Major League Soccer featured a total of 20 matches from Tuesday to Saturday and 79 goals were scored in one week.

Week 24 of the 2022 Major League Soccer season averaged four goals per game and it all started with the Colorado Rapids defeating the NY Red Bulls 5-4 on Tuesday night. Lorenzo Insigne also scored his first goal in MLS in Toronto’s 4-3 road win over Nashville SC over the weekend. Only one top-four team from both Conference’s won their game during Week 24 and it was the Supporters’ Shield leaders LAFC with a 4-1 win against Real Salt Lake.
