The Leagues Cup has attracted all of the attention in American soccer over the past month but the US Open Cup will soon return with two fascinating semi-final fixtures.

Both Houston Dynamo and Real Salt Lake were knocked out of the expanded Leagues Cup at the Round of 16 stage but now find themselves just two games from glory in the Open Cup.

Houston are teetering on the edge of the playoffs in the Western Conference and are without a win in their last five MLS games. But they have home advantage against a Real Salt Lake side who were thoroughly outclassed in their last outing, a 4-0 loss to LAFC earlier this month.

There’s a place in the Open Cup final up for grabs and both teams will be confident going into this semi-final clash.
