How and where to watch Seattle Sounders vs Tigers UANL first leg of Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals
It’s the early kick off the night from Nuevo León, Mexico as Tigres UANL host the Seattle Sounders in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup quarters.

The third of four MLS vs. Liga MX quarterfinals kicks off from Nuevo León, Mexico as the Seattle Sounders head south to take on Tigers UANL from the Estadio Universitario. It’s the first leg before both teams head to Seattle for the return leg next week.
Seattle Sounders
It’s been a solid start to the MLS season for the Seattle Sounders who have won four of their first six games in the league, and have allowed just two goals through their first six games of the campaign. While their defense has been dominant, they are lacking that killer touch in front of goal with just six goals scored. Only two team in the MLS have scored fewer.
This is the eighth appearance in the tournament since Seattle was brought into the MLS in 2009. After a couple of good early runs to the quarters and semifinal they finally broke through in 2022 and won their first Concacaf Champions Cup. They beat Pumas UNAM in the final for their first CCC title, but haven’t been past the round of 16 since.

They take their stingy defense to Mexico looking to steal a good result out of Nuevo León following a first round bye in the CCC. The Sounders were paired with the Vancouver Whitecaps after joining the competition in the round of 16, and took care of business in the first leg to breathe easy in the second. A 3-0 win away from home was followed by a 2-1 second leg and Seattle breezed into to quarter.
Tigres UANL
Through 13 matches, Tigres are sitting in the middle of the table during the Clausura. Five wins, two draws and six losses have them 14 points behind the leaders Guadalajara which means they can turn a little more attention to the Concacaf Champions Cup.

Tigres were a powerhouse in this tournament for a five year stint. They made the final in four of those five years, but they lost their first three finals before breaking the seal and winning it in 2020. They beat LAFC for their first title, but have yet to get back to the final since. The Mexican side are looking to take another step not just towards another final but towards another title in the first leg of the quarterfinals tonight.
It was a first round match up that didn’t present too many problems for Tigres. They played Forge FC from Canada, and after a 0-0 first leg north of the border, they beat the Canadians 4-1 at home. Their round of 16 match up was one of the best two legged ties in CCC history. Tigres lost 3-0 in Cincinnati, but then rebounded and shocked the world with a 5-1 win with two braces from Ozziel Herrera and Rodrigo Aguirre and the cherry on top from Fernando Gorriaran Fontes in stoppage time.
