How many Mexican players have played in the Premier League?

The Eredivisie is the league with the second-highest number of Mexicans in history, with as many as 13 players playing in the Dutch top flight.

The top Mexican talents have made the coveted move to Europe for years, with Spain being a popular location due to language. Over 40 Mexican players have plied their trade in LaLiga, including Guillermo Ochoa, Carlos Vela and Rafael Márquez.

The Eredivisie is the league with the second-highest number of Mexicans in history, with as many as 13 players playing in the Dutch top flight, including Santiago Giménez, who recently won the league title with Feyenoord.

Mexican players in Premier League

With Edson Álvarez officially joining Premier League club West Ham United, the number of Mexicans to have featured in the Premier League has risen to 11.

Mexico international striker Raúl Jiménez also plays in England’s top tier and recently made the move from Wolves to join London club Fulham.

Replacing Rice

West Ham have been looking for a replacement for midfielder Declan Rice, who left to join London rivals Arsenal. Álvarez has finally completed his move from Dutch giants Ajax and could play a key part in David Moyes’ side this season.

Álvarez will become the fourth Mexican player to play for West Ham after Pablo Barrera, Guillermo Franco and Chicharito Hernández.
