How much prize money will the UEFA Euro 2024 winners receive?
Having won all three of their group games, Spain’s have the potential to earn slightly more than European Championship final opponents England.
It’s unlikely to be near the front of the players’ minds as they take to the field at the Olympiastadion on Sunday, but Spain and England will be competing for a sizeable cash prize in the Euro 2024 final.
How much prize money can Spain, England win?
According to figures released in December by UEFA, European soccer’s governing body, the winning team in this weekend’s trophy decider in Berlin will earn their football federation a cheque for €8 million ($8.7 million).
That’s on top of the prize money they have already accumulated throughout this summer’s European Championship. Per UEFA’s breakdown of the €331 million ($361 million) total prize fund at Euro 2024, teams earn the following amounts as they progress through the competition:
- Group-stage qualification: €9.25 million ($10.1 million)
- Per group-stage win: €1 million ($1.1 million)
- Per group-stage draw: €500,000 ($546,000)
- Last-16 qualification: €1.5 million ($1.6 million)
- Quarter-final qualification: €2.5 million ($2.7 million)
- Semi-final qualification: €4 million ($4.4 million)
- Runners-up: €5 million ($5.5 million)
- Winners: €8 million ($8.7 million)
How much can Spain and England win in prize money?
Having won all three of their Group B matches, Spain are still on course to claim total prize money of €28.25 million ($30.9 million), the maximum possible amount. As England drew two of their games in Group C, the Three Lions would receive €27.5 million ($29.8 million) if they lifted the Henri Delaunay Trophy on Sunday.
UEFA says the prize fund at Euro 2024 is the same as at Euro 2020, which was delayed until summer 2021 due to the covid-19 pandemic. Italy, who beat England on penalties to win the final three years ago, claimed the maximum prize pot after progressing from the group stage with a 100% record.

Spain and England meet in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday July 14, 2024, with kick-off at Berlin’s Olympiastadion scheduled for 3pm ET/12 noon PT. Viewers in the United States will be able to watch the game on Fox Network, TUDN USA, Univision and ViX.

Can England end 58 years of hurt?
After suffering final heartbreak in 2021, England are bidding to go one better and win the men’s European Championship for the first time in their history. In doing so, Gareth Southgate’s side would end a more than half-decade wait for major silverware.
So far, the English men’s team’s only top-level tournament success came at the World Cup back in 1966.
Spain, meanwhile, are chasing a record fourth continental crown. La Roja previously won the European Championship in 1964, 2008 and 2012. Their tally of three tournament triumphs currently leaves them level with Germany as the Euros’ most decorated nation.
