How much will Erling Haaland earn at Manchester City and what salary did he have at Dortmund?

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Erling Haaland from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester City have their man. The current Premier League leaders announced the signing of Erling Haaland earlier on Tuesday.

Haaland will join the club this summer after City activated his release clause for a reported €60 million.

How much will Haaland earn at Man City?

The 21-year-old is set to earn a staggering £375,000 per week at Manchester City, according to Fabrizio Romano, which will make him one of the top earners at the club. City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne currently earns a similar wage.

How much did Haaland earn at Dortmund?

The terms the Norwegian agreed to when he joined Borussia Dortmund in December 2019 are said to be worth £132,000-a-week, or just over £6.8m ($9m) per year. The Bundesliga outfit signed Haaland from Red Bull Salzburg for a fee in the region of €20 million (£17 million).

His contract at Dortmund was due to expire in 2024, but City have secured the signing of the powerful striker after interest from elsewhere, including Real Madrid. In his spell with Dortmund, Haaland found the back of the net 85 times in 88 games, and also registered 23 assists.

Replacing Agüero

Although he only turns 22 in July, he now has the task of replacing Sergio Agüero as City’s number one striker. Under Pep Guardiola, Agüero played 182 games, scoring 124 goals at a rate of 102 minutes per goal.

Injuries hindered the Argentinian in his final two seasons at the club before went on to join Barcelona. Haaland has also had his fair share of injuries and will be hoping to avoid those in his first season as he becomes the new focal point in the City attack.
