The museum chain posted the news about the figure of the Miami superstar on its official website, explaining the importance of the player for world football: “Messi, frequently hailed as one of the best footballers of all time, has been immortalized alongside other sporting icons at Madame Tussauds.”
“The new wax figure of world football legend Lionel Messi is now at Madame Tussauds Orlando!”, the Museum’s official account on X exclaimed, along with the link to purchase tickets for those who are keen to be among the first people to visit the new exhibit.
“Messi proudly wears his Inter Miami CF kit, which embodies the spirit and passion he brings to the field, and can be seen in full celebration, pointing to the sky,” the website said.
The gesture, typical of ‘La Pulga’, is in honor of his grandmother Celia Olivera Cuccittini, who passed away before he turned professional and who remains one of the big inspirations in his life.
The Argentine’s figure is not only a recognition of his amazing football career, but also acknowledges the impact he has had on MLS since joining Inter Miami.
“It’s a monumental moment for football fans and the sports culture of the region,” said Michelle Daniels, the museum’s marketing manager.
Other wax figures on display in Orlando include: Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Rihanna and Harry Styles.
Ticket prices for Madame Tussauds Orlando start at $29.99 with special concessions for Florida residents.
