How to watch Manchester City vs Liverpool on TV and stream online in the U.S.: English FA Cup quarterfinals
With a combined 15 trophies between them, City and Liverpool face off at the Etihad. Guardiola’s team is chasing a domestic cup double.

Manchester City and Liverpool had high hopes when the season kicked off back in August - along with Arsenal, both were fancied to win the Premier League (City’s odds were 3/1, Liverpool were favorites at 7/4). But here we are eight months on and the panorama is looking very different for both clubs, who have a potentially season-defining meeting on Saturday afternoon.
City with one Cup in the bag
City’s chances of swiping the league title from Arsenal are looking slim and dwindling by the week, although they remain in the race - only just, trailing the Gunners by nine points with a game in hand. Any chance Liverpool might have had faded a lot time ago.
It’s been an underwhelming season considering the expectations but it’s not all doom and gloom. City already have one piece of silverware - they defeated Arsenal to lift the EFL Carabao Cup last month and are still in with a very good chance of completing a domestic cup double - they will need to beat Liverpool on Saturday first.
Pep 💬 (On Liverpool) They have been our biggest rival. It’s a team that made an incredible investment to be there for many years in the Champions League.

Liverpool’s ambitions
Overall, it’s been a disappointing season for Arne Slot’s team - embarrassing defeats at home, never-ending injuries, new signings either sidelined or failing to click... And beyond all of that, other darker, disturbing trends which expose deeper issues: only six wins from 16 on the road in the league, just 15 clean sheets in 47 games and a tendency to concede late - on more than a few occasions during stoppage-time.
Liverpool are left with three aims to play for: this FA Cup campaign, the Champions League (PSG in the quarter final first leg on Wednesday, and making sure they log a Champions League berth for next season (fifth place might be enough).
City manager Guardiola is serving a one-match ban and will watch from the stands. His assistant Pep Lijnders will be in the technical area.
Liverpool were buoyed by the news that Alexander Isak has been given the all-clear after making a complete recovery from a fractured fibula. But goalkeeper Alisson is out for the rest of the season so Giorgi Mamardashvili will face Haaland and Co.
The winners will head into the semi-finals, to meet Chelsea or Port Vale.
