Inter Miami target Boca Juniors’ duo Medina and Rojo
According to reports from Argentina, the MLS side are looking at signing Rojo and Medina from Boca Juniors with the Herons keen to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
As the 2024 season looms ever closer, MLS clubs and Inter Miami are busy looking at bringing in new reinforcements ahead of the forthcoming campaign.
Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez is the latest big name to join the ‘Herons’ and reports from Argentina suggest that the Florida club are targeting Boca Juniors pair, Marcos Rojo and Cristian Medina, to reinforce the defense and midfield respectively.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Inter Miami will look to make an offer to Boca for an amount of around seven million for Medina’s services as Brazilian giants Botafogo are also interested in signing the 21-year-old.
The offer, according to Argentine media outlet TyC, would only be for 80% of his signature with Boca retaining 20% of any additional future sale. However, it’s reported that the Xenezies have rejected the initial offer presented by the Brazilian team with the player’s current Boca deal expiring in December 2027. Juan Román Riquelme considers that Medina is one of the Argentine club’s key assets and will hold out in the hope that better offers may arrive for the player’s signature during the month of January.
