International Women’s Day is celebrated annually every 8 March as a focal point in the women’s rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.

Each year, clothing and lifestyle brands are keen to tap into International Women’s Day with the Jordan brand being a case in point in 2023 as the company release a limited edition Air Jordan 1 ‘International Women’s Day’.

The shoe features the purple colour synonymous with Women’s Day and bears motivational messages on the toe-box such as: ‘Because One Day, This Day Will Be Our Everyday’, ‘Unity’ and ‘Equality’.
