Keylor Navas not included in Ligue 1 best goalkeepers’ list
Paris Saint-Germain won the Ligue 1 trophy this season and the Costa Rica international kept eight clean sheets in 19 appearances.
Keylor Navas helped Paris Saint-Germain win the Ligue 1 title this season, making 19 appearances, conceding 16 goals with eight clean sheets. There are still three games left of the campaign and the French Players’ Union have announced the nominees for the individual awards.
The Costa Rica international was snubbed at this year’s season awards but his teammate Gianluigi Donnarumma was included. The Italian made three less appearances than Keylor Navas and the two keepers battled for a starting place all season long.
The other goalkeepers nominated are Walter Benítez from Nice, Alban Lafont from Nantes, Paul Lopez from Olympique Marseille and Matz Sels from Strasbourg. The winners will be announced at the end of the current campaign.
Navas wants out
Last month, the Costa Rica international hinted that this could be his last season with Paris Saint-Germain as his situation is not ideal. Navas is aware that PSG wants Donnarumma to become the starter because of his age, so he will listen to offers during the summer transfer window.
