Khvicha Kvaratskhelia hasn’t taken long to become an idol at Napoli. In his first 26 games for the Serie A club, he has racked up 12 goals and 15 assists, and pretty much every attacking move goes through the Georgian winger.

Kvaratskhelia has been unstoppable in both Serie A and the Champions League, prompting a raft of rumours over his future, although Napoli are adamant that they want to hold on to him for at least another year.

One of the clubs the 22-year-old has been linked with is Real Madrid - a team he has a particular fondness for. His agent, Mamuka Jugeli, has confirmed this in an interview in Georgia with GeoTeam, which has been published in the Italian media by CalcioNapoli24.

Highlights from Jugeli’s GeoTeam interview:

New Napoli contract:

“In January, I was with [Napoli] sporting director [Cristiano] Giuntoli and he told me there’s no rush to renew his contract. We aren’t in a rush, either. Khvicha likes everything about Naples and there’s nothing more to it for now. If we decide something, Giuntoli will be the first to know. We had a very friendly chat and talked about other talents from Georgia.”

Kvaratskhelia’s future in Serie A:

“I’ll repeat what I’ve said before: Kvara won’t play for any Italian club other than Napoli. I’ve spoken to him about it, and he’s confirmed that to me. That said, I don’t have a crystal ball, I don’t know what could happen in 10 or 15 years. Perhaps a team like Inter will come calling and he’ll want to go. As things stand, though, he doesn’t want to play for anyone other than Napoli in Serie A.”

A fan of Real Madrid:

His father, Badri, and I are fans of Barcelona, but Kvara loves Madrid. He’s a player who has what it takes to play at that level; he’s good enough to play for any team in the world. If I saw him in the Barça shirt, I’d be very happy - but he’s a Madridista.”
