Lionel Messi lands in Argentina ahead of March friendlies
Messi arrived in Buenos Aires to prepare for the matches against Panama and Curaçao.
The Argentina national team are preparing for their friendlies against Panama and Curaçao later this month.
On 25 and 28 March, La Albiceleste will play in front of their home fans as World Cup champions. The last match they played in Argentina was almost a year ago, a 3-0 win over Venezuela at La Bombonera.
Leo Messi, who just a few months ago lifted the World Cup in Qatar, has landed in Buenos Aires, just hours after PSG’s defeat to Rennes in Ligue 1.
The PSG forward’s future is a huge talking point in France and he could end up leaving the club following their recent elimination from the Champions League. He was booed by some PSG fans on Sunday ahead of the league clash in the French capital.
Argentina return to action after World Cup success
Today will see the arrival of the full squad called up by coach Lionel Scaloni for the friendlies. The squad will have a training session in Ezeiza and the World Cup-winning coach will speak to the media tomorrow at 15:30, prior to their next session.
The day before the friendly against Panama, there will be a final training session, where the press will be accredited to attend the last 15 minutes. The friendly with Panama will take place at River Plate’s El Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires at 21:00.
