Lisandro Magallán “ready” but not available after signing for Pumas
The defender was bought from Spanish club Elche and is the fourth reinforcement for Antonio Mohamed.
We have a new face coming into Universidad Nacional for the 2023 Apertura tournament. Lisandro Magallán arrived in Mexico City and reported with Antonio Mohamed’s Pumas, with the Argentine defender signing for two years from Elche CF in Spain.
‘’I am ready for the challenge and to play,” the former Boca Juniors player said to the media who gathered at the airport in the Mexican capital. “I’m going to do my best and I’m prepared to respond.”
Magallán does not yet have a work visa and is practically ruled out to be active in Tijuana when the Pumas face the Xolos on the opening day but fans will be eager to see what he can offer soon after.
Who are Pumas looking to offload?
The Pedregal club is searching for somewhere to send Higor Meritao and Nicolás Freiré. Both the Brazilian and the Argentine are not part of Antonio Mohamed’s plans, and the club needs to make room for other players.
Additionally, Rodrigo Celorio mentioned that Jonathan Sánchez will not be staying with the team, even though he still has six months left on his contract. Lastly, Gabriel Fernández is anticipated to finalize his contractual obligations next week and subsequently sign with Universidad Nacional.
