Update:

Real Madrid’s concern over Jude Bellingham’s current injury situation is growing as the player continues with his recovery from a persistent hamstring issue.

At the beginning of the month, the Spanish club released a statement on Bellingham, saying he “he has been diagnosed with an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left leg.” For you and I, that’s his hamstring.

Since then, there has been no further official communication other than whispers of around a month on the sidelines. However, the noises coming out of the capital are not positive.

“Jude is pushing... It is a little race against time”

Bellingham will certainly miss the game against Benfica and at least four league games (Valencia, Real Sociedad, Osasuna and Getafe). After that, Madrid play Celta ahead of a potential Champions League round of 16 first leg on March 10–11; at present, it is far from clear whether or not he will be available for those games.

England also play two home friendlies, against Uruguay and Japan, at the end of March. He is a doubt for these two fixtures as well.

“Jude is pushing, and as we know him, he is determined and super professional. He will try everything to be with us in March. Of course we are in contact, that is a normal thing to do, and we wish him all the best,” England manager Thomas Tuchel said. “Whatever we can do for him, we will help and support him. It is a little race against time.”
