MANCHESTER UNITED
Manchester United building under Erik ten Hag: Bayern player being monitored; in talks for Kim
United will add to their squad ahead of the new season.
Sky Germany are reporting that Manchester United are monitoring Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka. Due to Bayern’s interest and pursuit of England international Declan Rice, Goretzka could be set to lose his place in Bayern’s team next season.
Goretzka has been a key part of their side over several seasons but Bayern would like to add Rice to their midfield, with head coach Thomas Tuchel personally calling the West Ham captain recently. Arsenal are also interested in signing Rice over the coming weeks.
In 2022-23 Goretzka played 40 times for eventual Bundesliga champions Bayern. He scored six goals and provided six assists.
Kim Min-Jae
United are also reportedly moving closer to signing Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae. The centre-back - a Serie A champion - has a €60 million release clause. In Italy, journalist Daniele Longo reports that Napoli want to sign Giorgio Scalvini as a replacement for the South Korean.
England international Harry Maguire could be on the way out at Old Trafford after falling out of favour under Erik ten Hag, with Kim ideally coming in to bolster the defence this summer.
United have met with Kim’s representatives on two occasions, and a reported multi-year deal of €7m per season is being offered to the 26-year-old at Old Trafford.
