PSG close to completing two deals: Marco Asensio on the way
Asensio bid farewell to Real Madrid in their final game of the season on Sunday and will join on a free transfer.
PSG are set to announce the signings of Marco Asensio and Sporting CP midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
Both players are in Paris ahead of completing their moves to French champions PSG, as reported by L’Équipe in France.
Asensio leaves Real Madrid
Asensio bid farewell to Real Madrid in their final game of the season on Sunday and will join on a free transfer with his contract at the Bernabéu coming to an end. The Spain international is expected to sign a deal at the Parc des Princes until 2027.
PSG beat Chelsea in race to sign Ugarte
PSG, who are set to lose Lionel Messi, will pay Ugarte’s €60m release clause, and the 22-year-old Uruguay midfielder is set to put pen to paper on a deal until 2028, earning €3m per year in the French capital, after completing his medical on Monday afternoon.
Ugarte made 31 top-flight appearances for Sporting during the 2022-23 campaign and has eight senior caps with Uruguay.
