Manchester United injury worries appear to have eased as they prepare to face Copenhagen in a must-win Champions League clash.

Erik ten Hag’s side have won just one of their opening three fixtures in this year’s competition, the home fixture against Copenhagen last month. United need a win against the Danish side and are boosted by the news that Marcus Rashford will be fit to return from injury.

The Englishman was ruled out of last weekend’s Premier League win over Fulham after picking up an injury in training. In a press conference on Wednesday Ten Hag confirmed that Rashford was in the squad.

Will Harry Maguire play against Copenhagen?

United have suffered a series of key injuries in 2023 and looked set to lose another defender on Saturday when Harry Maguire collided with Rodrigo Muniz. Maguire appeared dazed and fell to the ground, requiring a concussion protocol test to ensure that he was fit to continue.

Speaking on Wednesday, Ten Hag confirmed that Maguire would be fit to play against Copenhagen:

“There is not any indication [of concussion]. He was fine in the game so no problems. He played a very good game.”

United’s defensive options are also boosted by the return of Victor Lindelof from illness. As a result of the team’s injury woes the Swedish centre back has been deployed at left back in recent weeks and could be used there again on Wednesday.

Why isn’t Casemiro playing for Manchester United?

Ten Hag is able to welcome back some injured players for the Copenhagen trip, but he will be without some key performers. Earlier this week it was announced that Casemiro would be out for “several weeks” after picking up a hamstring injury in the Carabao Cup loss to Newcastle United.

The United boss gave further information about the Brazilian’s status on Wednesday, stating that he and Lisandro Martinez could be out of contention until the end of the year.

He said: “I expect some back but Casemiro and Martinez, [they] are really strong injuries and I don’t expect them back before Christmas.”
