Mbappé: ‘My future will be resolved ahead of Euro 2024’
The French striker spoke to the media along with head coach Didier Deschamps ahead of Saturday’s friendly game against Germany.
For the first time since the beginning of the year (January 3), Kylian Mbappé has faced the media as he prepares with the French national team in Clarefontaine, ahead of Saturday’s friendly game as the 2022 World Cup runners-up face Germany in Lyon.
The striker was inevitably asked about his future and the striker assured the media that “he has nothing to announce” in this regard but did add that he anticipates that ahead of the European Championship “everything will be resolved” with the player also expressing his desire to represent France at the Olympic Games but that is a matter that does not directly depend on him.
Mbappé Future: “I have not announced anything because I had nothing to announce.”.
“The day I have something to announce, I will be open and will offer the details. Sorry to disappoint you, but I have nothing juicy to announce.”
“I said it’s not a problem. We are in a final sprint. The idea of playing well currently and scoring goals is more important than whether I stay or not. We are very focused on that.”
Olympic Games: “I’ve always had the same ambition. I’ve always said that it’s an event that doesn’t depend on me. The final decision always comes from the same person (his parent club). I have no say in the matter and I keep my distance from situations. If I didn’t, I would accept and do what they tell me.”
Olympic Games and PSG: “We have not talked about it (with PSG). Do I look like a distracted player when you seen me in action? What happens off the pitch doesn’t matter to me.”
Will your future be decided before the European Championship: “I will concentrate on the French national team when the Euro 2024 comes around and I think everything will be settled by then.
