Meritao and Jeronimo Rodriguez out for Pumas against Toluca
The Brazilian and the Mexican will not play against Toluca.
Despite winning their last game against Gallos Blancos de Queretaro, Pumas UNAM are going through a difficult spell in Liga MX and sit 15th in the table at the time of writing. Pumas are therefore in dire need of the three points against Toluca.
Head coach Andrés Lillini will not have a full squad to choose from as Brazilian Higor Meritao and Jeronimo Rodriguez will not be available for the game. The South American will miss out due to a grade 2 muscle injury in his adductor.
Likewise, the Carioca will not be available for the games against Cruz Azul and Puebla, and won’t be back until matchday 17 of the 2022 Apertura, when the side face the Bravos of Ciudad Juárez. Meritao has an ankle injury and is out of action for seven days.
Despite recording a win in their last game, Toluca are favourites to win the game and move up the table.
Meanwhile, Pumas have only collected 13 points from 13 games, winning two, drawing seven and losing four. Lillini’s team will need to drastically improve.
