The ‘Messimanía’ is going to conquer North American hearts, especially Apple TV. After the launch of the docuseries ‘Messi comes to the United States’, the apple company has gotten to work to release another project about the Argentine, this time about Messi’s history with Argentina, from his debut to playing the glory in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. ‘Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of the Legend’ will be the North American company’s new commitment to bring soccer closer to the North American public.

What is the documentary about?

Like its namesake about the arrival of the Argentine to the MLS, the new Apple TV documentary will consist of four chapters of approximately one hour in length. Produced by Emmy winners Tim Pastore, Tony Patrick Milling, Brian Carmody and Matt Renner, the story will tell Messi’s steps in international football, from his debut with Argentina, where he received a red on the 18′ minute after entering the match, going through the tough defeats in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the 2015 and 2016 Copa América, his premature retirement in 2017 until he managed to touch glory in the 2021 Copa América and the 2021 World Cup. 2022.

The series will feature first-person testimonies from some of the most important figures in Argentina, from the past to the present day such as 'Kun' Agüero or Lionel Scaloni as well as current world champions such as ' Draw Martínez, Enzo Fernández or Ángel Di María. In addition, the documentary will feature exclusive images of the Argentina concentration from the first days in Qatar.

When will the documentary be released?

As confirmed by Apple TV, the documentary aired Wednesday, February 21. As usual, the series will have weekly chapters that will premiere in the early hours of the United States (normally around 04:00 am ET).
