“Messi will end up at Newell’s”
Mono Burgos, Diego Simeone’s former assistant, spoke in an interview about Lionel Messi’s possible return to his Newell’s Old Boys.
Germán Burgos has spoken about Lionel Messi’s future and whether he will return to his beloved Newell’s Old Boys in Rosario, Argentina.
The former Atlético Madrid assistant coach gave his thoughts on the PSG forward’s next steps in an interview with TyC Sports.
Messi to Newell’s
“He will end up there [Newell’s], for sure, I have no doubt. He will play one game, two games, three, whatever it takes. He loves Newell’s, he loves Rosario and he will surely dedicate a game or a season to the people of Newell’s, for sure,” Burgos said.
On Messi with the Argentine national team
“It will have to be decided if he stays with the national team or not.”
Going back to River Plate
“I’m very clear about it. I know that one day I’m going to be at River, as I was at Atlético Madrid and the Argentine national team.”
