Monterrey on cusp of securing Sergio Canales’ signature
The Monterrey FC board of directors continues to work on the search for reinforcements as they look to have made headway in signing the Spanish creative player.
Negotiations between Real Betis’ Sergio Canales and Liga MX side Monterrey seem to be winding towards a conclusion.

Spanish media report that the player is poised to return from England where Betis are conducting pre-season and is set to travel to Mexico imminently to conclude the move. The lucrative deal being offered by Rayados for the creative midfielder (15 million net over three seasons) and a ten million transfer fee (with a potential additional five in bonus related objectives) has proven too irresistible for the ‘Verdiblancos’.
Monterrey have started the new Apertura 2023 season with two wins and a draw and lie in second place and embark on their Leagues Cup adventure this weekend where they will face MLS sides Real Salt Lake and Seattle Sounders.
